Our Louisville Intensive Outpatient Program is designed to allow you to learn about addiction, address your individual addiction triggers, and gain the tools necessary to live a sober life. We do this by providing you with three-hour group sessions, three times per week, that will help guide you through the journey to understanding what drove you to your addiction and what you can do to achieve sobriety.
Intensive Outpatient Programs are part of the continuum of treatment. Often individuals need the structure, education, support, and counseling offered in an intense program such as this. At times, a client will need a higher level of care and will be referred to an inpatient treatment program. The Intensive Outpatient Program is a great way to step back down to join the community in a safe and structured way. So whether you begin your treatment in the Intensive Outpatient or you join after an inpatient stay, Solutions Counseling Center can be a part of your journey.
The biggest difference between inpatient rehab and outpatient rehab is that you live at home and are on your own when you’re not in our outpatient program. There are a number of benefits to this:
Intensive outpatient programs do require you to be fully committed to getting sober. Because you continue to live on your own, you may be tempted to relapse. Our IOP in Louisville KY offers the support and education to help you through these challenges.
Our Intensive Outpatient Program meets three days a week for three hours each time. You have the rest of the day free to work or spend time with your family. During these meetings, you will work with others in a group setting.
The goal of our program is to help you understand why you turned to drugs. Treating the addiction itself is the same as treating a symptom. If we don’t address the underlying cause of your addiction, you will very likely relapse when faced with that cause. Our goal isn’t to make you sober for now, it’s to give you the tools to live sober for the rest of your life. We can only do that if we determine what pushed you to drugs in the first place.
Our outpatient rehab in Louisville can be split into three major components:
These sessions bring you together with other recovering addicts. You learn from their experiences and share your own. You also work through coping skills, learn to recognize triggers, and more as a group. The goal of these sessions is to look at what addiction is, what it does to you, and how you can overcome it.
During your one-on-one counseling sessions, you’ll delve into the stressors in your life. Are you struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, or addictive behaviors? You will learn to cope with these and other difficulties head on. We have a highly skilled therapy team to help you make lasting positive changes in your life.
Our aftercare group provide you with the continuing support and education you need to fight off relapse and remain sober. It’s similar to a support group like AA, but it’s not a replacement. We encourage you to seek out an AA or NA group and to find a sober sponsor in addition to attending our aftercare program.
An Intensive Outpatient Program is not for everyone, but it is a good fit for many people. We will meet with you individually to assess your needs and if you meet medical criteria for our program. We will recommend the best level of care for you and your needs. Our Louisville Intensive Outpatient treatment works closely with other treatments centers in the Louisville area if we feel that there is another level of care more appropriate for you.
If you’re motivated to be sober and can commit to quitting drugs, an intensive outpatient program is perfect for you. Please reach out to Solutions Counseling Center today to discuss how we can help you and to begin the process of becoming sober.
